Of him, and through him, and to him, are all things.’ This is the God of whom we say: ‘To whom be glory for ever.’ This is his glory, and it is giving him glory when we know, and acknowledge, and live, and act on this blessed truth. All things are of him, as their beginning and alone author; and through him, as their continuance and maintenance, the only power by which they exist and act; and to him, as the sole aim and end for which they have their being.

This is God’s glory: to know this and to make it known, to show it forth and find our blessedness in it – this is living to the glory of God. It was for this life man was created.
